The Grayhawk Golf Club clean energy retrofit included:
Lighting: Delamp and Relamp with fewer watts, less heat and longer lasting light
- Replaced incandescents and hot halogens with CFL's and LED's
- Replaced T12 linear fluorescents with HPT8 fluorescents
- Changed out 24x7 Exit Signs and string lights to LED
- Deployed a fluorescent bulb recycling program
- Over 800 lamps and fixtures were replaced removing >59,000 watts
- HVAC: Replace aging and inefficient A/C
- Twenty One (21) new units are >40% more efficient and use R410A refrigerant (non-ozone depleting Freon). Bundled with a ten year parts and labor manufacturer's warranty, annual maintenance and repair costs are reduced by 80%.
Building Envelope: Control the Building Environment
- Weatherstripped and sealed doors
- Installed programmable thermostats to control building temperature and costs
Solar: Generate your own electricity from the sun
- A 28kW plant was installed on the roof of the Maintenance Building in February, 2010
- This generating facility will produce on average >60% of the electricity needed by the
host building. As proven, a similar 30kW facility is envisioned for the Clubhouse Rotunda
later in 2010.
