The Desert Ridge Marketplace clean energy retrofit included:

Lighting: Delamp and Relamp with fewer watts and longer lasting light – Efficiency First!

• Lowered the CAM electrical load and lighting maintenance and repair through selective
  introduction of new lighting technologies with longer-lasting lamps and ballasts
• Over 3,000 lamps and ballasts were retrofitted removing over 180,000 watts.
• APS incentives paid for over 25% of the installed cost reducing the payback period/ROI to <14
  months.
• Created Utility, Maintenance and Repair savings of over $150,000 annually.
• Environmental benefits include reduced landfill waste and all the upstream benefits including the
  reduction of emissions associated with the removal of over 800,000 kWh annually. This results
  in the elimination of an estimated 1,650 tons of CO2 annually.
• Instituted a fluorescent lamp recycling program and a turnkey “breadman” restocking program.

Solar: Generate free electricity from the sun – Go Green, Save Green!

• A 25kW solar system and a 39kW solar system was installed on the roof of two shops in March, ’10.
• These generating facilities will produce on average more than 90% of the electricity needed by
  the CAM electric meters which service signage, exterior building lighting and parking lot lighting.
• Also later in ’12, additional 100kW solar systems were deployed. Ultimately, solar
  energy as envisioned can address the requirements of all CAM electric meters on the property.
